Teja Sajja’s character combats a power-hungry supervillain played by Vinay Rai with superpowers of Lord Hanuman in the action-packed trailer of Prasanth Varma’s upcoming Telugu film Hanuman.

Dropped by RKD Studios on Tuesday, the three-minute-31-second-long trailer opens with a visually captivating sequence of Teja diving into a waterbody in Anjanadri, which is said to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. After finding a glowing stone on the riverbed, Teja’s life is changed forever and he gains superpowers, much to the dismay of Vinay Rai’s supervillain who wants to get hold of a natural source of power.

We also see some spectacular visuals in the teaser, which offers a good versus evil narrative and concludes with an intriguing scene in which Teja’s superhero breaks ice to wake Lord Hanuman from his meditation.

Inspired by the history of Akhand Bharat, Hanuman is the first film in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. Hari Gowra has composed the background score for the movie.

Starring Teja in the lead role, known for working in films like Oh! Baby (2019) and Zombie Reddy (2021), the upcoming original Indian superhero movie also stars Amritha Aiyer and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.

Produced by K Niranjan Reddy, Hanuman is slated to release in theatres worldwide on January 12, 2024.
