The teaser of SonyLIV’s upcoming biographical financial thriller series Scam 2003 - The Telgi Story promises an intriguing insight into Abdul Karim Telgi’s Rs 30,000 crore fake stamp paper scam that shocked the nation in 2003.
Dropped by the streamer on Friday evening, the one-minute-26-second-long teaser begins with glimpses of the hit 2020 series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. A voiceover introduces us to the 2003 scam when in the “country of mathematicians, there was a scarcity of zeroes”. It goes on to talk about a scam of Rs 30,000 crore as shots of a pile of stamp papers appear on the screen.
Without seeing the lead character’s face, we only hear his voice backed by Achint Thakkar’s energetic Scam 1992 theme. “I have no desire to earn money because money is not earned, it is made,” he says, before signing off with, “If you want to progress in life, you must dare darling.”
