American singer-songwriter Halsey was diagnosed with Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder back in 2022, she revealed in a social media post on Thursday.

“In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life,” the 29-year-old artiste wrote on Instagram.

Sharing vintage-themed posters of herself in a blonde wig, Halsey also thanked fans for their love and support throughout the difficult period. “After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors,” she added.

The singer also expressed gratitude to the fans for their response to the newly-released title track of her fifth studio album The End. She also said she is “feeling better” after two years and that she is “more grateful than ever to have music to turn to”.

“I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With you all. Singing and screaming my heart out,” Halsey signed off.

Written and produced by Halsey, The End is available to stream on Spotify. Other songs in the album are yet to be released.

Fans flooded the comments section with their love for the singer. “You’re so unbelievably strong. Thank you for allowing us on this journey with you. we are so proud,” one of them wrote, while another fan mentioned, “We will always love you. You are so important to us and we will always have your back and we will always support you. You will get through this.”

Earlier, on Tuesday, Halsey had penned a note on how she will not let her condition hamper her living. “I’m not going to be sick. I’m going to look super-hot and have lots of energy. I’m just going to get to redo my 20s and 30s,” she had written.

In September last year, Halsey had teased her new album. “Not pictured: me splitting myself in two everyday so that I can give you my deepest wounds (and a handful of perfect joys) for the 5th time in 10 years,” she had written alongside an Instagram carousel.
