Halsey has dropped a 1990s-inspired music video of her new single Ego from the singer-songwriter’s upcoming album The Great Impersonator, slated to release on October 25.
The three-minute-33-second-long video shows Halsey playing two versions of herself. At one end of a table, we can see the singer sporting long red hair and a black mini dress, while on the other end she wears a tuxedo and flaunts short red hair.
Halsey’s two egos fight each other in a dimly-lit home in the video released on Friday. “I think that I should try to kill my ego/ ‘Cause if I don’t, my ego might kill me,” her lyrics read.
Ego is the fourth single from Halsey’s fifth and upcoming studio album The Great Impersonator. “I made this record in the space between life and death, and it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it,” she said, describing her album.
The three-time Grammy nominee dropped the cover picture of her upcoming album this week. The picture features a monochrome close-up picture of her face, with a star carrying the title on her forehead.
Halsey last released her album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power in 2021. It went on to reach the second position on Billboard 200.
