Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the conclusion of James Gunn‘s superhero trilogy, crossed the USD 500-million mark worldwide by raking in USD 91.9 million over the second weekend, according to Box Office Mojo reports.
Headlined by Chris Pratt, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 maintained its position as the highest grossing movie in US and Canada by earning USD 60.5 million during the weekend, down by only 49 per cent from its opening weekend.
The Marvel movie crossed USD 200 million at the domestic box office of the US and Canada with a total collection of USD 213.2 million so far. With another USD 315.6 million coming from overseas markets, the total worldwide earnings of the fantasy adventure film now stands at USD 528.8 million.
In India, however, the box office earnings of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 witnessed a dip during its second weekend. After earning Rs 37.31 crore nett during its first week of theatrical run, the movie went on to rake in another Rs 1.9 crore nett on second Friday, followed by Rs 3.6 crore nett on second Saturday and Rs 3.3 crore nett on second Sunday, taking its total collection to Rs 46.12 crore nett.
Meanwhile, Universal’s animated The Super Mario Bros. Movie continues to remain the highest grossing Hollywood movie of 2023 with a collection of USD 1.2 billion worldwide.
