“I want to live a whole life and love with you,” says Scott Speedman’s Nick Marsh to Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey in the teaser of medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy Season 20, which marks the latter’s return to Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital following her recent exit from the show.

Dropped by ABC channel on Wednesday night, the teaser hints at Nick and Meredith’s blossoming romance and also focuses on new interns facing challenges like being threatened by their superiors, their difficulties with sobriety and a wedding ceremony gone wrong. It also shows Kim Raver’s cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Altman going into a coma.

Nick first appeared on the show in Season 14 as a transplant surgeon, impressing Meredith with his passion for medicine. They started dating in season 18 but faced immense challenges in their relationship.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 20, which will only include 10 episodes due to production shortage, is going to deal with Dr Richard Webber’s past addiction. While Nick and Meredith fall in love, Dr Jo Wilson and Dr Lucas Adam also begin a new romance after the latter’s confession.

Created by Shonda Rhimes, Grey’s Anatomy follows the lives, careers and relationships of surgical residents, attending physicians and staff at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle. Led by the resilient and talented Dr Meredith Grey, the series explores the workplace dynamics of medical professionals.

Running since 2005, Grey’s Anatomy is ABC channel’s longest-running Primetime scripted series. Its latest season is slated to premiere on March 14 on ABC and will be available to stream on Hulu.
