Great Gerwig’s Barbie is now available to rent on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Google Play and BookMyShow Stream.
Viewers can rent the movie for Rs 499 for a 30-day period (48 hours to finish once started) on Amazon Prime Video in India. It is also available for purchase on BookMyShow Stream for Rs 799. Those outside India can also purchase the movie for USD 29.99 or opt for a 48-hour rental for USD 24.99 on Apple TV, Google Play and Vudu.
The live-action film, released by Warner Bros. Pictures globally on July 21, has been a phenomenal success, quickly becoming the highest-grossing film of 2023. Barbie kicked off its box office run with a massive USD 155 million domestic haul during its opening weekend in the US. It also scripted history as the highest-grossing box office opening for a female director.
The movie achieved yet another milestone in late August by becoming Warner Bros.’s highest-grossing release in the studio's history, surpassing the previous record-holder, 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, with a worldwide total of USD 1.34 billion.
Margot Robbie takes on the role of Barbie in the movie with Ryan Gosling playing her romantic counterpart Ken. Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Scott Evans and John Cena also feature in this fantasy comedy.
