Mayukh Ranjan Sarbadhikary, the grandson of Nagendra Prasas Sarbadhikary visited the sets
Someone special dropped by the sets of Golondaaj recently. The film, starring Dev, is inspired by life events of Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikary, the open-minded, prolific athlete who is known as the father of Indian football. Recently Mayukh Ranjan Sarbadhikary, the grandson of Nagendra, visited the sets of Golondaaj.
Dhrubo Banerjee, the director of Golondaaj, took him around the sets, showing him the props, costumes and introducing him to the cast members who are portraying football players in the film.
Dev, who plays Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikary in the historical fiction, spoke to him at length about his grandfather’s achievements.
“It’s an honour to have him on the set of Golondaaj. I am extremely glad that we could successfully resume the shoot of Golondaaj and if everything goes well, the film will be in theatres soon. Mayukh Ranjan Sarbadhikary’s visit escalated our energy of working in the film,” said Dhrubo.
Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikary made an immense contribution to Indian football and went on to set up many football clubs in Calcutta. One of the biggest projects of SVF, the film — also starring Ishaa Saha, Anirban Bhattacharya among others — is slated to release next year.
