Govinda Naam Mera director Shashank Khaitan says that he accepted creative inputs from actors and allowed them to improvise while shooting for the upcoming comedy thriller, starring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar.
“I have always believed that everyone has a creative side, and as a director, I think it's only fair that I allow that creative flow and take bits that could help the film. Not a single moment went by without somebody randomly laughing during the comic scenes. The whole set would resonate with laughter, and I sincerely believe that each of them could be a stand-up comedian on their own accord for the number of jokes they crack,” says Shashank.
The film follows the life of Govinda Waghmare (Vicky), a struggling choreographer wedged between his marriage with Gauri (Bhumi) and love for his girlfriend Suku (Kiara).
The family entertainer has been jointly produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan. Govinda Naam Mera is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on December 16.
