Govinda has made a foray into the digital space with the launch of his own OTT platform Filmy Lattu, the Bollywood actor announced on Instagram on Friday.
Sharing a poster of Filmy Lattu, Govinda wrote, “Presenting my own OTT app “Filmy Lattu”. Download now and watch my film “AA GAYA HERO”.”
Available for download on Google Play Store and Apple app store, Filmy Lattu comes with a subscription fee of Rs 149.
Aa Gaya Hero, the first film available on Filmy Lattu, released in 2017. Helmed by Dipankar Senapati, the action comedy featured an ensemble cast including Ashutosh Rana, Makarand Deshpande and Murli Sharma. It featured a special appearance by Poonam Pandey in an item song. However, the film tanked at the box office.
Govinda’s legacy is marked by his ability to connect with audiences through his infectious energy, memorable dance moves and comedic flair. He made his debut in 1986 with the film Ilzaam, which was a commercial success and set the stage for his prolific career.
The 1990s marked the peak of Govinda’s career. He formed a successful collaboration with director David Dhawan, resulting in a series of blockbuster comedies such as Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1, Raja Babu and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Despite facing a career slump in the early 2000s, Govinda made a successful comeback with films like Bhagam Bhag and Partner. His role in Partner, also featuring Salman Khan, was particularly well received by the audience.
