Raaghir-The Wayfarers delves deep into the hardships faced by the marginalised tribal communities of India, director Goutam Ghose said at the Pune International Film Festival, where the film starring Adil Hussain and Tillotama Shome received an ‘overwhelming’ response on January 22.

“The film showcases how Indian reality differs in the cities and in a poor tribal village,” said Ghose. “They have limited dreams and desires. Their biggest concern is trying to gather the day's food,” the National Award-winning director added, calling his film a “celebration of empathy and humanity despite a struggle for survival.”

Raaghir-The Wayfarers is a poignant exploration of the interpersonal relationships among three impoverished strangers struggling to earn their livelihood. As their paths intersect, empathy blooms, easing the daily challenges of their hand-to-mouth existence.

“We are happy with such an overwhelming response at Pune International Film Festival…Not only did the audience enjoy Raahgir, they also asked relevant questions related to the film,” producer Amit Agarwal, known for backing projects like M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story and Simran, said.

Also featuring Neeraj Kabi and Omkardas Manikpuri in important roles, Raahgir: The Wayfarers will be screened at various film festivals before releasing theatrically, the producer revealed, acknowledging the significance these festivals hold for filmmakers and film lovers alike.

Raahgir: The Wayfarers was previously showcased at Busan International Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival and Kolkata International Film Festival.
