Steven Spielberg won the Best Director award for his film The Fabelmans, which also bagged the Best Movie Drama Award at a star-studded Golden Globe Awards ceremony held in Beverly Hills on Tuesday night.
The 80th Golden Globe Awards, which saw S.S. Rajamouli’s film RRR bag the Best Original Song award for the Telugu song Naatu Naatu, also awarded writer-director Martin McDonagh’s black comedy The Banshees of Inisherin for movie musical and screenplay.
Among Hollywood actors, Cate Blanchett won the Best Actress Award Drama for her performance in the psychological thriller Tár. Michelle Yeoh took home the Best Actress Musical or Comedy award for the absurdist comedy-drama Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Austin Butler won Best Actor-Drama for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. Colin Farrell was voted the Best Actor Musical or Comedy award for The Banshees of Inisherin.
Among TV shows, HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series House of The Dragon won the Best TV series Drama while ABC’s Abbott Elementary won in the Best TV Series Musical or Comedy category.
HBO’s The White Lotus: Sicily won in the Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or TV Movie category. Jeremy Allen White collected the Best actor in a TV series – Musical or Comedy trophy for The Bear while Quinta Brunson took home the award in the female category for Abbott Elementary.
Veteran actor Kevin Costner was voted as the Best actor in a TV series drama for Yellowstone while Zendaya took home the award in the female category for her performance in HBO’s Euphoria.
Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio won the Best Animated Film award.
