The success party of the film Shohorer Ushnotomo Dine was held at Soul — The Sky Lounge recently. Starring Vikram Chatterjee, Solanki Roy, Debopriyo Mukherjee, Rahul Dev Bose, Anamika Chakraborty and Anindya Chatterjee, the Aritra Sen film is a coming-of-age love story of two Calcutta-bred individuals, Ritoban and Anindita. “It feels very special. Now that the film is successful and we have delivered a hit, it feels great,” said Vikram. “I am on cloud nine now. This has been a very special film for all of us. This is in a true sense a labour of love. We have worked very hard, and we have loved this project. People all over Bengal are loving this film and I’m thankful to them. I have been at Soul — The Sky Lounge to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I love this place and I am happy to be back again,” said Solanki.

“We still have packed houses in the fourth week... 25 days with almost 20 theatres retained is a big achievement for a Bengali film. It does not have a conventional storyline and has brought so many young people to the halls to watch a contemporary Bengali film. This is what makes it special that we could break some stereotypes. I am grateful that Soul — The Sky Lounge hosted the whole cast and crew for such a wonderful evening where we could make memories that we will cherish. The entire team worked as a family and to celebrate like one on this great occasion is even more special. I am hopeful and looking forward to 50 days at the theatres,” smiled Aritra.

“The writing, performances, music, cinematography, and design, all came together to fit perfectly into Aritra’s vision. The immense popularity of the lead pair was the icing on the cake. I think if I had to choose, I’d say the audiences loved the film because they found themselves in the story, they could relate to the characters. Several people have told me that they could feel Sayak’s burden of failures, be it in love or in chasing his dreams. Some have said they wished to see more of Sayak’s life, his journey from a pride-filled young musician to a bitter man to someone who has made peace with his demons. The fact that so many people have thought so deeply about my character has left me moved and also inspired. We formed several friendships, hopefully lifelong, while filming. Having created something so magical together has further strengthened those bonds,” said Debopriyo.

Talking about hosting the team, Abhishek Dutt, the owner of Soul — The Sky Lounge, said, “I am extremely glad that we could host Shohorer Ushnotomo Dine’s success party. We had a great time having everyone at the property celebrating. The entire space was lit up for them.”
