The film, which holds the audience’s attention throughout, has received acclaim for Prosenjit and Rituparna’s enigmatic charisma and chemistry, their commendable performances, taut narrative, riveting storyline and screenplay, incisive writing, dialogues, songs and humour.

“It feels wonderful... the response has been awesome from the first day itself. The film saw houseful shows from Day One. On June 9, we knew that it was going to be huge. Seventy per cent of shows went houseful on the first Sunday, and on the second Sunday 90 per cent of shows went houseful. The strong word-of-mouth has made it a must-watch for the audience. Shows in multiplexes and single-screen theatres were booked in advance... shows have seen long queues. The hall visits and special screenings gave a beautiful feeling of being part of a big family event with people bustling all around with bountiful energy,” said Prosenjit.
“It is an amazing feeling... it feels like I am living in a dream, especially when a film becomes successful after so much hard work. It has become a part of history. This is a blessing... the audience has showered this pair with so much love, passion and affection for 30 years. There is this tremendous frenzy. People are celebrating the magic and enigma of our film and it fills me with great joy. People have come back to the theatres in large numbers. There was a time when things were uncertain during Covid. One would wonder about the future. The success of Ajogyo and the houseful shows are a clear indication of the power of cinema and storytelling and the way it can pull in crowds. It is a befitting reply; cinema is a survivor. It is a huge fillip to the industry... when your hard work gets recognised, it is a beautiful feeling... Kaushikda had come up with this beautiful story. I feel happy and content,” said Rituparna.
