Pritha Chakraborty’s Paharganj Halt, starring Paoli Dam and Ritwick Chakraborty has gone on the floor. The film was announced on Valentine’s Day this year and comes with a message of self-love. While the cast and the director have been tight-lipped about the story, the film location tells a lot. The film is being shot in various remote parts of Bolpur and adjacent areas.
While Paharganj Halt might be a figment of Pritha’s imagination who is also the writer for this film, she has brought it alive in the very familiar yet unexplored locales of Birbhum. “I have tried to go beyond our very-known Bolpur and create the Paharganj Halt which I think the audience will like and relate to. For this film, the location is a character which has its own story,” says Pritha.

“Ever since I read the script, I have been very impressed with the kind of perspective Pritha has brought to the story. While the audience needs to wait for the film, my experience of shooting here has been amazing. The people in all our shoot locations are very warm and friendly. They’ve been very cooperative and to be able to be around such simplicity and serenity is like a breath of fresh air,” says Paoli Dam.
Talking about his experience of working with Pritha, Ritwick says, “When a director has spent enough time with a screenplay they know how to dissect it from all angles. They understand how to capture every nuanced emotion, which is very satisfying for an actor. I am sure this is going to turn out to be a great film and I definitely look forward to working with Pritha more.”
