Srijit Mukherji’s film Padatik, starring Chanchal Chowdhury, Monami Ghosh, Korak Samanta and others, is inspired by the life and times of Mrinal Sen. Padatik captures his journey and looks at the fast-changing world through his eyes. It depicts aspects of Mrinal Sen’s marital life, relationship with his peers like Satyajit Ray and Ritwick Ghatak, his bond with his son, his politics of cinema, the way he used to react to the turbulent times around him and many more. Going beyond standard biopic norms, Padatik portrays Sen as a filmmaker who shaped cinema’s magic with a pragmatic touch. Team Padatik recently got together for the premiere of the film at Priya. “The film has got rave reviews from critics and amazing feedback from the audience. We are very happy with the response. We have plans to release the film pan-India and worldwide soon,” said producer Firdausul Hasan.
