Actor Pedro Pascal on Monday dropped the first-look poster of Paul Mesca from Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II, sharing that the movie will arrive in the cinemas on November 22.
The poster shows Mesca in full gladiatorial gear inside the arena of the colosseum as he appears to be bracing himself for a fight. “Come and get it. #Gladiator2 November 22,” Pascal captioned the poster.
Mescal plays Lucius Verus, the grown-up son of Lucilla and nephew of Commodus, in the sequel to Scott’s 2000 blockbuster. The movie will explore Lucius’ journey as he steps into the brutal world of gladiatorial fights in the aftermath of Commodus’ reign. Pascal, who plays Marcus Acacius in Gladiator II, also shared a behind-the-scenes picture of Mescal from the sets of the film whose official trailer will drop today.
Connie Nielsen and Djimon Hounsou, who played Lucilla and Juba, respectively, in the 2000 film, are set to reprise their roles in the sequel. Barry Keoghan, Denzel Washington, Derek Jacobi, Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechingeron will join the cast.
