Gal Gadot will be returning as Wonder Woman in the third instalment of the superhero film series with DC studio executives James Gunn and Peter Safran, the actress revealed in a recent interview with Chris Killian.
“I love portraying Wonder Woman. It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together,” she said.
Gadot first appeared as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder's Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. After that, she took on the lead role in the 2017 Wonder Woman and its 2020 follow-up Wonder Woman 1984, both directed by Patty Jenkins. The actress also made appearances in Justice League and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
Wonder Woman is the story of Diana (Gal Gadot), an undefeatable warrior and princess of the Amazon who is convinced that she can stop the conflicts raging in the world beyond her sheltered life. Although there is no official confirmation from DC studios yet, sources say Jenkins would not have the Wonder Woman series under her belt anymore after Warner Bros. rejected her treatment of the sequel.
Gadot will play a spy in her next film, the Netflix thriller Heart of Stone, alongside Alia Bhatt and Jamie Dornan.
