Audiences watching the remastered version of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha in theatres will also get to watch an exclusive one-minute-long teaser of the film’s sequel Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, included in the version that hit theatres on Friday.
The teaser begins with a disclaimer that Gadar 2 is set in Lahore in the year 1971, 17 years after the events of the first film. We hear a female voice-over saying, “Damad hai woh Pakistan kaa, usse nariyal do, tika lagao. Varna is baar woh dahej mein Lahore le jayega.”
This is followed by a montage of common people thronging the streets of Pakistan carrying placards with ‘Crush India Movement’ written on them. Deol’s Tara Singh makes a grand entry right after, wielding a wooden wheel.
The teaser ends with a shot of Tara Singh sitting in front of a grave as the iconic song Ghar Aaja Pardesi — in Arijit Singh’s voice this time — plays in the background.
Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 features Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in the lead roles. The action-drama will release in theatres on August 11 and will clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2 at the box office.
