The Fukra gang — known for tickling our funny bone with their whacky jugaad and antics — is back in action. Fukrey 3, the third instalment in the comedy franchise, not only lives up to its predecessors but almost surpasses them with its storyline and stellar performances by Varun Sharma and Pankaj Tripathi.

Picking up from where Fukrey Returns (2017) left off, Fukrey 3 continues with the misadventures of the Fukra gang, comprising Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma), Panditji (Pankaj Tripathi) and Lali (Manjot Singh). Their Janta Store venture has fallen flat on its face, and they are back to scraping together small amounts of money through various jugaad, including Choocha's unique power, Deja Chu, by means of which he can predict the future.

Meanwhile, the notorious Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha) has transformed into a politician, running for the position of minister of water resources. She receives financial backing from the water mafia don Dhingra (Amit Dhawan) in exchange for her support in his water theft and smuggling operations.

As Bholi seeks Panditji’s help to devise a plan with the Fukra gang to bolster her election campaign, Hunny hatches a scheme pitting Choocha against Bholi in the elections.

While Bholi plots to derail Choocha, the gang accidentally discovers that a mix of Choocha's urine and Hunny's sweat can miraculously turn into petrol. The boys waste no time in cashing in on their new-found money-minting idea, unleashing chaos and a chain of hilarious situations.

Fukrey 3 starts off by putting the friendship of the Fukrey right at the centre. Their camaraderie is as endearing as ever. Whether it's Choocha's quirks, Hunny's strategic mind games, Laali's innocence, or Panditji’s unwavering support for the gang, each character brings their unique charm. Add to this mix, the intrepid Bholi Punjaban.

Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and screenplay writer Vipul Vig once again showcase their storytelling prowess, blending punchlines and side-splitting quips. And there’s a lot of toilet humour thrown in but the jokes don’t stink.

From punning about cleaning your rear after using the loo to using commode water to revive Hunny and Choocha after they endure an electric shock — the situations are over-the-top and laugh-out-loud too. The social message on water theft and water gambling has been woven in the most entertaining way possible.

Fukrey 3 also rides on the performances. The film primarily belongs to Varun Sharma and Pankaj Tripathi. Choocha remains at the centre for most of the film and Varun is simply effortless in the role. He might get on your nerves with his fake naivete and mischievousness but he's so good at it that you can't help but laugh along with him.

Pankaj Tripathi proves his comic genius in Fukrey 3 as someone whose mere presence in a scene adds an extra dose of humour to the situation. He seems to have had a ball playing the character, which is noticeable in the sense of ease in his performance.

As Bholi Punjaban, Richa Chadha’s transition from being naive to fiery is smooth, making her character both relatable and unpredictable. In the sequence where she's getting married, Richa’s dance performance to the song Tumse Milke Dil Ka from Main Hoon Na is off-the-charts funny. Pulkit Samrat and Manjot Singh also manage to leave a mark in their roles.
