Mrighdeep Singh Lamba-helmed comedy drama Fukrey 3 breached the Rs 50-crore mark at the domestic box office, minting Rs 11.69 crore nett on its fifth day in theatres, trade reports highlighted on Tuesday. The film’s predecessor Fukrey Returns (2017) had crossed the mark on its seventh day.
The film — featuring Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Manjot Singh and Richa Chadha — registered an opening day collection of Rs 8.82 crore nett on Thursday, followed by Rs 7.81 crore nett on Friday. It minted Rs 26.85 crore nett over the weekend. With Monday’s earnings, the five-day collection of the film now stands at Rs 55.17 crore nett.
Fukrey 3 has emerged as the 14th Hindi movie of the year to reach the Rs 50-crore mark at the box office in 2023. Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan achieved this feat on the opening day itself. Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Prabhas-starrer Adipurush joined the club on the second day. Salman Khan’s Kisi ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan hit the milestone on the third day.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt-starrer Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 joined the Rs 50-crore club on Day 4. Adah Sharma’s The Kerala Story and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2 took five days to reach the mark.
Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa, Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani’s SatyaPrem Ki Katha and Vicky Kaushal-Sara Ali Khan-starrer Zara Hatke Zara Bachke hit the milestone on Day 6, Day 7 and Day 10, respectively.
Among the other releases of the week, Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War tanked at the box office, collecting only Rs 7.25 crore nett in five days. Kangana Ranaut-starrer Chandramukhi 2 has fared marginally better with a collection of Rs 28.95 crore nett in all languages, with the lion’s share coming from the Tamil version (approximately Rs 22 crore nett).
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is all set to breach the Rs 1100-crore mark worldwide. The Atlee-helmed actioner has minted Rs 1082 crore gross globally so far. Also featuring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles, the film has earned approximately Rs 614 crore nett domestically.
