From Shah Rukh Khan’s heartfelt note to Hrithik Roshan’s throwback picture, Amitabh Bachchan’s 80th birthday on Tuesday saw a number of celebrities pouring love on the veteran actor, who was termed the “superhero of Indian film fraternity” by superstar Rajinikanth on Twitter.

While actresses Ananya Panday and Shanaya Kapoor watched Bachchan’s magic unfold on the big screen during a film festival dedicated to the actor, social media was abuzz with birthday wishes for Bachchan. Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Mammootty, Prabhas, Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan, Sonam Kapoor and many others wished Bachchan on his birthday. Shah Rukh Khan

A two-second clip of Shah Rukh and Bachchan singing Ek dusre se karte hain pyar hum from the latter’s 1991 blockbuster movie Hum. Shah Rukh, who has worked with Amitabh Bachchan in hit films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Mohabbatein, wrote a heartfelt note for Bachchan. “One thing to learn from this great man, actor, superstar, father and superhuman is to never back away….instead learn….level up and launch again and again….forever. May you always be healthy and entertain our grandchildren also. Love you sir,” he wrote.

Shweta Bachchan

Shweta Bachchan shared unseen throwback pictures with her father and wished him with a poem on his 80th birthday.

Rajinikanth

Rajinikanth extended his wishes for Amitabh Bachchan on Twitter, calling him the “superhero of our glorious Indian film fraternity”.

Ali Zafar

Ali Zafar shared a throwback video from the time he visited the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati with his Kill Dill co-stars Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra. The Pakistani singer-actor sang a medley of songs from Amitabh Bachchan’s films including Kishore Kumar’s Chhu kar mere manko and the iconic Yeh dosti hum nahin from Sholay.

Kunal Kemmu

Kunal Kemmu shared a side by side painting of himself dressed up in the iconic blue shirt, cigarette-in-mouth look of Amitabh Bachchan from Deewar. “Maa baap ki ungali pakad ke chalna seekha aur aap ko screen par dekh kar seeti maarna,” he wrote.

Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan shared a throwback picture from 1979 when his uncle Rajesh Roshan took him to Mehboob Studio where he met Bachchan.

Siddhant Chaturvedi wrote a poem in Hindi for Bachchan on his 80th birthday.

Radhe Shyam actress Pooja Hedge wished Bachchan with a behind-the-scenes video from an advertisement shoot for a soft drink.

Pan Nalin

Oscar nominated film Chhello Show director Pan Nalin shared a moment from the film where the actors recreated Bachchan’s dialogues from the 1992 film Khuda Gawah. The video also showed Nalin and Bhavin Rabari (Samay from Chhello Show) wishing the actor on his birthday.
