Deadpool & Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, was the first choice for movie-goers in India on Friday despite two new releases hitting cinemas — Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, and Janhvi Kapoor-led Ulajh.
The Shawn Levy-directed Marvel movie began its second week in theatres with a collection of Rs 4.25 crore nett on Friday. With earnings worth Rs 89.9 crore nett in the first week, the total collection of Deadpool & Wolverine at the Indian box office now stands at Rs 94.15 crore nett.
Deadpool & Wolverine is performing well at the global box office too. The superhero film has raked in USD 630 million worldwide. This includes USD 298 million in North America and USD 332 million from international markets.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha managed to rake in only Rs 2 crore nett on its opening day, while Ulajh fetched Rs 1.10 crore nett.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is a romantic drama spanning 23 years. The film also features Shantanu Maheshwari, Saiee Manjrekar and Jimmy Sheirgill in key roles.
Ulajh is directed by Sudhanshu Saria, and features Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew and Meiyang Chang in key roles. The espionage thriller revolves around young spy Suhana (Janhvi Kapoor) who is branded a traitor during her mission in London.
