First Love
Netflix has released the trailer of Japanese series First Love, inspired by the music of J-pop icon Hikaru Utada. Directed by Yuri Kanchiku, the series stars Hikari Mitsushima, Takeru Satoh, Akiyoshi Nakao, Towa Araki, Aoi Yamada, Gaku Hamada, Osamu Mukai, Iura Arata and Kyoko Koizumi.
The two-minute-33-second-long trailer follows a couple as they revisit the memories of their romance. The 1999 song First Love and the 2018 song Hatsukoi are used in the trailer.
First Love will be streaming on Netflix from November 24.
Haami 2
Windows production has unveiled the trailer of Haami 2, the sequel to filmmakers Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s 2018 film Haami.
Haami 2 follows a fresh story with characters from the first instalment. Shiboprosad plays Laltu and Gargee RoyChowdhgury plays Mitali in the film. Three child actors —Ritodeep Sengupta, Shreyan Ghosh, and Aritrika Chowdhuri— will also star in Haami 2.
The three-minute-17-second-long trailer shows Laltu and Mitali’s elder son as a math prodigy. His talent lands him on a reality show hosted by superstar Prosenjit. His appearances on the show earn him a lot of money and Mitali pushes him to do even better. Meanwhile, Mitali’s younger son feels lonely in the absence of his brother. The film will also feature Anjan Dutt, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Monami Ghosh, Haranath Chakraborty and others.
Haami 2 will hit the theatres on Christmas.
Sr
Netflix has dropped the trailer of its upcoming documentary Sr in which Robert Downey Jr. takes us through his father's life and legacy. Directed by Chris Smith, who previously helmed American Movie and Fyre, the film offers an insight into the creativity of filmmaker Robert Downey Sr and his personal life. Robert Downey Jr. is the narrator of this documentary.
The two-minute-48-second-long trailer gives us a glimpse of Downey Sr’s sense of humour and his equation with his family. The filmmaker also talks about his filmmaking techniques and gets candid about his life experiences.
The documentary is led by Downey Jr., who decided that the legacy of his family of filmmakers deserved to be documented, celebrated, and shown to the world. It also features Downey Jr.’s mother and son.
Sr will arrive on Netflix on December 2.
Faadu: A Love Story
SonyLIV has unveiled the teaser of its romantic drama series Faadu: A Love Story. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, it stars Pavail Gulati and Saiyami Kher alongside Abhilash Thapliyal. The series is written by Saumya Joshi and its music has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
The one-minute-53-second-long teaser gives us a glimpse of the love story of Abhay (Pavail) and Manjiri (Saiyami). The tagline describes their love story as “cursed by desire”. The teaser shows how Abhay fell in love with Manjiri during their college days and she has always stood by his side in his attempts to become rich.
1923
Paramount Plus released the teaser of its upcoming neo-western series 1923, a prequel to the Taylor Sheridan-directed hit series Yellowstone. It stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in the lead roles. The Yellowstone spinoff series will explore the history of the Dutton family in the late 1920s.
The short 41-second-long teaser shows glimpses of the West during the early 20th century when pandemic, historic drought, prohibition and the Great Depression plagued Montana, especially the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch.
1923 will arrive on Paramount Plus on December 19.
