After doing the rounds in national and international film festivals with her two films The Green Window and Soch, and bringing home many laurels, director Indira Dhar Mukkherjee is ready with her next, titled Swadeshini Bideshini, where the director explores the comedy genre. The story of the feature film revolves around the friendship between two women, an NRI and a housewife. Shot extensively in Calcutta, the film is the director's tribute to all Bengali families who hold their culture close to their hearts and are rooted in their traditions. The nostalgia of senior citizens and their attachment to the city is one of the aspects that gets captured in its storyline. A celebration of Bengalis and their culture, the film stars Rupsha Guha, Moubani Sorcar, Suman Sen, Sharmila Sen, Basudha Dhar, Debdutta Raha and Master Kabir Mukherjee.
