A restaurant that has been gaining immense popularity for its sumptuous food among outsiders. A journalist, Nirupam Chanda, who gets to know about it, and develops a keen interest to find out about the owner, Muskan Zuberi. Srijit Mukherji has started the shoot of Robindronath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Aashenni, his first Hoichoi series, adapted from a famous novel from Bangladesh. Rahul Bose plays Nirupam Chanda. Azmeri Haque Badhon, one of the most popular actresses from Bangladesh, plays Muskan Zuberi. While Anirban Bhattacharya plays a character called Ator Ali, Anjan Dutt and Anirban Chakrabarti also have important roles to portray. The series is slated to release early next year. “This is a very special project for me. I am working with some of the best actors from three film industries. The story unfolds through unpredictable events,” says Srijit. “It’s a wonderful story with a great cast. After Bulbbul, I made a clear choice, I wanted to do one in Bengali, one in Hindi and one in English. The writing has to be good, especially in a series and the writing (of REKKA) is excellent. As soon as I read it, I said yes. Once I say yes, what matters is the project, which is exciting and everything should be bent in an arc to make the project work. That’s exactly what we did. Srijit looks at things with a creative heart,” says Rahul.

Azmeri Haque Badhon had started working on her Bengali accent and started learning to sing as well. “So that my delivery in the series is an absolute match to the character and also to the vision of the director. My director has supported me in the effort and I hope my hard work helps me do justice to the character,” says Badhon.
