Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone-starrer Fighter and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2 have topped the list of IMDb’s 20 most anticipated Indian movies for 2024.
As the rankings were determined by the actual page views of millions of monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide, the list features at least one movie from the regional film industries apart from Bollywood.
“Among the Indian movies with planned releases in 2024, these titles were consistently the most popular with IMDb users, as determined by the actual page views of the hundreds of millions of monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide,” the official X handle of the online movie and show database wrote on Tuesday, sharing the list of top 20 most anticipated Indian movie for 2024.
Among other theatrical releases this year, Welcome to the Jungle emerged as the third most anticipated movie of the year, while Rohit Shetty-helmed Singham Again and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD occupied the fourth and the fifth position, respectively.
Among the 20 titles on the IMDb list, nine are Hindi movies, five are Telugu, four are Tamil, one is Malayalam and one is a Kannada movie. Deepika Padukone stars in three of the top five movies on the list — Fighter (No. 1), Singham Again (No. 4) and Kalki 2898 AD (No. 5).
Four titles on the list are sequels or parts of popular franchises. They are Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2 (No. 2), Welcome to the Jungle (No. 3), Singham Again (No. 4) and Indian 2 (No. 17).
