Prime Video’s latest crime thriller series Bambai Meri Jaan will have its global premiere in India and 240 countries and territories on September 14, the streamer has revealed on Instagram.
Sharing a short teaser of Bambai Meri Jaan on Monday, Prime Video promised a gory, action-packed thriller that would trace the emergence of a new don in a metropolis. “From nothing, to something, & then everything #BambaiMeriJaanOnPrime, new series, Sept14,” it wrote in the caption.
Produced by Excel Media and Entertainment’s Ritesh Sidhwani, Kassim Jagmagia and Farhan Akhtar, the 10-part series is created by Rensil D'Silva and Shujaat Saudagar.
Bambai Meri Jaan is a gripping saga about a father and son in post-Independence India. The show is based on a story by S. Hussain Zaidi’s Lahore Confidential and features Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya and Amyra Dastur in key roles.
“Bambai Meri Jaan deals with the complexity of nature vs nurture, weaves the saga of a family inhabiting and growing through their trials and tribulations alongside burgeoning post-Independent Mumbai. We can’t wait to see viewers’ reactions,” said Saudagar, who also helms the show.
Prime Video’s head of India Originals Aparna Purohit termed the series as an intricate and intriguing story of dreams and ambitions. “The story is like an immaculate symphony that delves deep into the psyche and emotions of its key characters, as they struggle with the consequences of their own choices,” she said.
