Farah Khan Kunder, Malaika Arora, Arshad Warsi, Gauhar Khan and Huma Qureshi indulged in mouth-watering homemade dishes, from biryani to gajar ka jalwa, during a potluck lunch on the sets of dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 11 ahead of the March 2 season finale, shows a behind-the-scenes video shared by Farah on Tuesday.
“Epic Finale needed an EPIC LUNCH!! Will miss our food sessions guyyyssss,” the 59-year-old choreographer-filmmaker captioned her post on Instagram.
“Today is the finale of Jhalak and everyone has brought food from their homes,” Farah says to begin the video as the camera panned to Malaika clapping in a grey satin robe.
The 50-year-old actress was the first to show the food she had brought from her home — a range of delicious vegetarian dishes including curry, aloo gobi (potatoes and cauliflower), methi paratha and gajar ka halwa. As Malaika reiterated that all her dishes were strictly vegetarian, Arshad playfully teased her, “You were vegeterian about five years back”.
“I was 18 also many years back” was the actress’ mirthful reply. Next, Arshad revealed the hara keema he had brought from home. Gauhar followed suit as she uncovered the khichdan cooked by her mother.
Farah introduced Huma who had come to the show’s finale to promote the third instalment of her Sony LIV series Maharani. “Aur ek fokat mai khana khane aayi haai (And one of us is here only to eat),” joked Farah as Huma greeted the camera, adding “Mai khud ko yaha layi hu because aapke show ki tarah aapka khana bhi itna trending hai (I have come here because your food is as trending as your show)”.
The video ended with Farah showing the scrumptious Biryani and chicken she had brought from her home.
Farah, Malaika and Arshad served as judges, while Gauhar served as the host for Season 11 of the dance reality show.
In addition to Huma, the cast of Homi Adajania’s upcoming Netflix thriller Murder Mubarak, including Sara Ali Khan and Sanjay Kapoor, were present at Jhalak Dikhla Jaa finale, which aired on March 2 on Sony Entertainment Television. The winning trophy was bagged by Manisha Rani, while Shoaib Ibrahim and Adrija Sinha emerged as the runners-up of the season.
