Brad Pitt’s former Formula 1 racer comes out of retirement to build a race car suited for fierce competition in the recently dropped trailer of F1, directed by Top Gun: Maverick helmer Joseph Kosinski.

Dropped by Warner Bros. Uk & Ireland, the one-minute-45-second-long trailer begins with Pitt having a gripping conversation with his engineer, played by Kerry Condon, about building a race car ready for “combat”. Pitt’s character says that they need to focus on beating other racers on the challenging turns of a race track.

However, Cordon is concerned about the safety of the drivers, to which Pitt retorts, “Who said anything about safety?”

Set to Queen’s iconic song We Will Rock You, the subsequent scenes feature heart-pounding racing scenes from the perspectives of the racers, bringing out the dangers of the sport.

The teaser also hints at Pitt’s character mentoring a rookie racer, played by Damson Idris.

According to US-based entertainment magazine Deadline, Pitt recently resumed shooting for the film at the British Grand Prix.

F1 is directed and produced by Kosinski and adapted from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger.

“Follows a Formula One driver who comes out of retirement to mentor and team with a younger driver,” reads the official synopsis of the film as per IMDb.

F1 is slated to hit theatres next year.
