Marion Cotillard’s prediction of doom and Meryl Streep urging someone to stop pondering about the past indicate a future loaded with uncertainty in the Extrapolations trailer, dropped by Apple TV+ on late Wednesday.
Other than Cotillard and Streep, the eight-episode anthology drama series on the effects of climate change also stars Kit Harington, Edward Norton, Forest Whitaker, Tobey Maguire and Sienna Miller.
The two-minute-27-second-long trailer introduces us to a future where humans have set foot on Mars and cancer has been defeated. However, climate change has brought catastrophic consequences. The trailer then shows us a montage of images from the years 2037, 2046, 2047, 2052, 2059, 2066, 2068 and 2070 in which eight different stories are set in. The video delves into the human drama of survival as the world around is coming crashing down.

The series also features Indian actor Adarsh Gaurav, who earned a BAFTA nomination for his performance in 2021’s The White Tiger.

Written, directed and executive produced by Scott Z. Burns, the series also features Daveed Diggs, Diane Lane, Tahar Rahim, Yara Shahidi, Matthew Rhys, Gemma Chan, David Schwimmer, Keri Russell, Eiza González, Murray Bartlett, Indira Varma, MaameYaa Boafo, Hari Nef, Heather Graham, Michael Gandolfini, Cherry Jones, Gaz Choudhry, Ben Harper, Judd Hirsch and Neska Rose.
Extrapolations will premiere on Apple TV+ on March 17.
