Chris Hemsworth’s Australian black-ops mercenary Tyler Rake is back from being ‘clinically dead’ to rescue a ruthless Georgian gangster’s family from a prison in the action-packed trailer of Netflix’s upcoming action thriller film Extraction 2, a sequel to the 2020 film Extraction.
Released by the streamers on Tuesday evening, the two-minute-39-second-long trailer begins with a reminder of Rake’s medical condition following the near-fatal injuries he had sustained at the end of the first instalment of the film series. But the gun-toting mercenary is back for another near-impossible mission.
The video is filled with glimpses of several high-octane action sequences. We see Rake take on a group of mercenaries single handedly and neutralise them at will. The trailer also promises trademark single-take action sequences like the first Extraction film. We also see some moments of Rake in a full-blown prison riot as he tries to find a reason to fight back. “Here we go! #Extraction2 trailer smacking you right between the eyes. Enjoy this 2 mins of madness before Extraction 2 drops June 16th, only on Netflix,” Netflix wrote on Instagram alongside the trailer.
