Sylvestor Stallone returns to the big screen this Friday as Barney Ross, leading his band of men on a fresh mission to stop mercenaries from gaining nuclear arsenal. And that’s not all. A slew of entertaining and thought-provoking films are also hitting the theatres on September 22.

Expend4bles is the fourth instalment in The Expendables franchise and picks up the threads after The Expendables 3 (2014). Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and his team — Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Dolph Lundgren (Gunner Jensen), Randy Couture (Toll Road) and 50 Cent (Easy Day) — are sent to Libya to stop mercenary Rahmat (Iko Uwais) from stealing nuclear warheads for a mysterious figure named Ocelot. After being ambushed and taken hostage during the mission, the team unravels the truth about Ocelot’s identity and plans.

The Great Indian Family (Hindi)

Vicky Kaushal plays Ved Vyas Tripathi aka Bhajan Kumar, a talented bhajan singer hailing from a small town called Balrampur, in The Great Indian Family. His world falls apart when he finds out that he is actually Muslim by birth. Shunned by his family, Bhajan Kumar seeks to build his life afresh and win back the love and acceptance of his family in this comedy.

Sukhee (Hindi)

Sukhee, directed by newcomer Sonal Joshi, is a slice-of-life film revolving around Sukhpreet Kalra aka Sukhee, a 38-year-old Punjabi homemaker (played by Shilpa Shetty Kundra). Tired of her monotonous daily life, she decides to visit Delhi to attend her high school reunion. In those seven days, Sukhee revisits her teenage years and has a range of new experiences. It brings about a transformation and Sukhee discovers herself as more than just a mother and wife.

Palan (Bengali)

Cast: Anjan Dutt, Mamata Shankar, Jisshu Sengupta and Paoli Dam

Anjan Dutt and Mamata Shankar play Mr and Mrs Sen, an elderly couple, in Kaushik Ganguly's Palan, reprising their roles from Mrinal Sen’s 1982 film Kharij. Their house faces imminent eviction after being deemed unsafe by the municipal corporation, leaving them with only two days to vacate. As tensions build up, repressed emotions surface, creating friction among both family members and their neighbours. Jisshu Sengupta and Paoli Dam play the son and daughter-in-law of the Sens.
