Renowned filmmaker Ari Aster is back in action, kicking off production for his upcoming film Eddington this week. And the excitement doesn’t stop there as Aster has gathered an ensemble cast featuring some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

The lineup includes recent Oscar winner Emma Stone, Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal and Austin Butler. Joining them are Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward and Clifton Collins Jr.

Two-time Oscar-nominated cinematographer Darius Khondji will be behind the lens for Aster’s modern-day westerner. The film is being produced by Aster and Lars Knudsen through their company Square Peg, along with A24.

“Welcome to EDDINGTON. Ari Aster’s contemporary western starring Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Austin Butler, Deirdre O'Connell, Micheal Ward and Clifton Collins Jr. is coming soon,” A24 wrote on X.

Eddington will reunite Aster and Joaquin Phoenix, who had collaborated for the 2023 film Beau Is Afraid, co-starring Patti LuPone, Nathan Lane and Amy Ryan. Phoenix, who won the best actor Oscar in 2019 for Joker, stars in the highly anticipated sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, hitting theaters in October.

Emma Stone clinched her second Academy Award for her role in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, while ‘internet daddy’ Pedro Pascal is known for his roles in Drive-Away Dolls and HBO’s The Last of Us. Austin Butler is currently garnering acclaim for his performance in Dune: Part Two, following his critically acclaimed turn as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 film Elvis.
