Eminem released an emotional music video of his new single, Temporary, to announce his daughter Hailie Jade’s pregnancy. Temporary, from the American rapper’s latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), is a testament to his love for her.

The five-minute-two-second-long music video, which also features vocals by Skylar Grey, is a montage of heartwarming moments shared by Eminem and Hailie together over the years. Towards the end, we see Hailie surprise her father by giving him a jersey that reads “Grandpa”, with the number one on it, and a picture of her ultrasonography.

The song, which Eminem says he wrote for his daughter to listen to when he is no more, made fans old and new emotional. The clip where he tries to hold back tears when he sees Hailie in her wedding dress, particularly resonated with fans, as seen in the comments section.

Following the song’s release, Hailie also announced her pregnancy on Instagram by posting pictures with her husband Evan McClintock. “Mom & dad est. 2025,” she captioned the photos. The couple, who started dating after they met at Michigan State University in 2016, got married in May this year.

The video’s comments section was inundated with fans taking a trip down memory lane. They fondly recalled Eminem’s hit 2004 track Mockingbird, which he’d dedicated to his daughters Hailie and Alaina Marie, who were 9 and 10 years old, respectively. “Mockingbird to Temporary. We've all come very far,” one fan commented.

Besides Temporary, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) includes the song Somebody Save Me, also dedicated to Eminem’s children. Featuring Jelly Roll, the song is Eminem’s apology to his children for his shortcomings as a father.

The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), which marks Eminem’s 12th studio album, was released in July. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and recently featured again in the top 10 list.
