After getting immense love and appreciation for his web journey and The Eken (film), detective Ekendra Sen is set to win hearts with The Eken — Ruddhaswas Rajasthan. The shoot of the film starts from December 1, and will mostly be done in Jaisalmer and Jodhpur.

Directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, Ruddhaswas Rajasthan follows Ekendra Sen, who is seen enjoying his vacation in Rajasthan with Bapi and Pramatha. Suddenly a professor of archaeology at Oxford University, Shatadru Ghosh, informs Eken Babu about his suspicions around a particular idol he had seen in London that has gone missing. Along with this, there’s an inquiry about a missing girl, Rajyashree, who is also a student of archaeology.

Eken Babu begins his investigation with his two companions.

Anirban Chakrabarti is back as the lovable, quirky, quick-witted detective whose courage is his armour in a moment of crisis. At times, he gets entangled in such situations that can only elicit laughter. Unlike other private eyes, Eken is extremely effervescent, also a connoisseur of food and this time while vacationing in Rajasthan, he stumbles upon events that trigger the quest for the investigation.

Suhotra Mukhopadhyay plays Bappaditya in the film. Bappaditya aka Bapi is Eken Babu’s favourite companion whom he met during an investigation in Bangalore.

RJ Somak Ghosh plays the role of Pramatha, who is Eken’s companion along with Bapi. He is an empiricist at the University of Chicago.

While Sandipta Sen plays Rajyashree Sen who is a curator at Jaisalmer museum, Rajatava Dutta plays the professor who currently lives in England and is a researcher of archeological works.

“Eken Babu has this huge connect because he is very adorable and loveable. We have not seen detectives like Eken Babu before. Eken is not larger than life like the others. He is the guy next door. He loves to eat, talks a lot, comes up with poor jokes. He is unassuming. At the same time he is very intelligent, sharp and properly trained. The contrasting characteristics have made him very interesting. Eken Babu is admired by all, from the youngsters to the elderly. Eken Babu is never gloomy. He is jovial, always doing something, which connects with the kids as well. Eken is a refreshing change for all,” says Anirban.
