On the 10th anniversary of his 2014 chartbuster Photograph, British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran recalled how the song remains one of the most ‘special’ tracks for him.
“10 years of Photograph. This was the first song I finished for Multiply that felt like something special,” the 33-year-old singer wrote on Instagram on Friday alongside a clip of him performing with New Hope choir.
Sheeran revealed how his album Multiply was “built and moulded” around Photograph. “But it took so long to nail the production,” the Perfect singer admitted.
“What I love about this song is it can have so many iterations. Here’s me playing it at the anniversary show yesterday with the incredible New Hope Choir, hope you enjoy it,” he said, signing off.
Fans flooded the comments section with their nostalgic notes. “Photograph has always been an emotional one for me, beautiful version,” one of them wrote. “The choir arrangement gave me the shivers. Thank you so much for re-adding Photograph. I know you had a tough past with this song. But I will be forever grateful,” another commented, heaping praise on Sheeran and the choir.
Photograph explores the power of memories and photographs, expressing nostalgia and longing for loved ones. The song highlights how photos serve as a reminder to people about their cherished moments despite physical separation.
Sheeran recently appeared on actor-comedian Kapil Sharma’s Netflix chat show The Great Indian Kapil Show, where he performed his song Shape of You with a troupe of bhangra dancers. He also recreated Shah Rukh Khan’s signature arms-stretched-out pose and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa gesture.
The singer was recently in India to perform in Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course for his Mathematics Tour. He met with Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Farah Khan, Rakul Preet and Armaan Malik.
Sheeran released two albums in 2023 — ‘-’ (Subtract) and Autumn Variations. He also recently debuted at the Met Gala this year in a powder-blue suit from the shelves of Stella McCartney.
