Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran met newlyweds Rakul Preet and Jackky Bhagnani at a get-together in Mumbai and played cricket with Team India batter Shubman Gill on Thursday, show pictures and videos shared on social media.
Rakul Preet, who recently tied the knot with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan producer Jackky Bhagnani, went for a breezy look in an orange hand-embellished shirt dress at the party, reportedly hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma. “What a warm guy,” she wrote alongside a picture with her husband and Sheeran.
The highlight of Thursday was definitely Sheeran playing cricket with cricketer Shubman Gill, pictures and videos of which went viral on social media. YouTuber and comedian Tanmay Bhatt had shared glimpses of the moment on his Instagram Stories. “Welcome to the multiverse,” he captioned one of the pictures.
Ananya Panday’s cousin Ahaan Panday had a fanboy moment with Sheeran, who signed the former’s guitar. “Been prepping on this guitar for my debut film and now I have it bless-Ed by none other than @teddysphotos,” Ahaan, who served as the assistant director for the Netflix thriller series The Railway Men, wrote alongside an Instagram carousel carrying pictures and videos with Sheeran and a snap of his signed guitar.
Producer Deepshikha Deshmukh, known for backing films like Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, posed for the lens with Sheeran and her kids. “What a lovely evening. Warm and humble,” she captioned the picture shared on her Instagram stories.
Sporting a black kurta with geometric pattern and a mandarin collar, Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui connected with Sheeran and Kapil at the party. “Comedy, Music & us. Great meeting 2 masters of both the art forms,” Faruqui captioned his post.
Among other celebrities who reportedly attended the party were Archies actor Mihir Ahuja, singer Armaan Malik’s fiancée Aashna Shroff, actor-comedian Sunil Grover, actress Archana Puran Singh and actress-model Esha Gupta.
Sheeran met Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan and Farah Khan Kunder on Wednesday. He also recreated Shah Rukh’s signature arms-stretched-out pose with the Bollywood star.
The Perfect singer is set to perform in Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course on March 16 as part of his ‘+ - = ÷ x Tour’, also called The Mathematics Tour.
The ongoing ‘+ - = ÷ x Tour’ is Sheeran’s fourth tour. Spanning across three continents with 89 shows, the tour started on April 23, 2022 in Dublin, Ireland, and is scheduled to end on September 8 in Larnaca, Cyprus.
