Max has unveiled the first teaser of its upcoming Dune TV series, Dune: Prophecy, which features Bollywood actress Tabu in a key role.
Set to premiere this fall, the six-episode show draws inspiration from the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
Set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ rise to power, Dune: Prophecy revolves around two Harkonnen sisters as they confront threats to humanity’s future and establish the legendary order known as the Bene Gesserit.
Alison Schapker, known for her work on Fringe, serves as the showrunner and executive producer of Dune: Prophecy. The ensemble cast of the show includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May and Mark Strong.
Additional production credits include Diane Ademu-John, who co-developed the series and serves as an executive producer. Anna Foerster, known for Outlander, is also an executive producer and has directed several episodes of the show.
The executive production team comprises Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, John Cameron, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, Jon Spaihts and author Brian Herbert. While Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert represent the Frank Herbert estate. Kevin J. Anderson, the co-author of the source novel, serves as co-producer.
