Timothee Chalamet’s prophet turns into a rebel leader on the desert planet Arrakis to avenge his father’s murder by the Harkonnens and the Emperor in the second trailer of Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated sci-fi epic Dune: Part Two.

Dropped by Warner Bros. Pictures on Thursday, the three-minute-three-second-long trailer begins with a voiceover outlining House Atreides’s century-long struggle against the Harkonnens. We then see Zendaya’s Chani helping Paul Atreides (Chalamet) after they are attacked by the Harkonnens. Chani, however, declares that she is not fighting for Paul but for her own people. We also get glimpses of a blossoming romance between the duo.

The video clip then shows Paul becoming a member of the Fremen tribe on the desert planet Arrakis. He gets reunited with his old mentor Gurney Halleck (Josh Brolin). We are then introduced to Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh) who informs the Emperor (Christopher Walken) about Paul’s survival. This is followed by a sandworm ride with Paul leading Fremen to a rebellion against the Harkonnens.

Austin Butler’s Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, who is Baron Harkonnen’s younger nephew and the planned successor of Arrakis, also features in the trailer in a gladiatorial duel. We see a confrontation between the Emperor and Paul followed by a glimpse of a destructive war. The trailer ends with Paul rallying his Fremen tropes with a warcry in their native language.

Dune: Part Two is the second of the two-part adaptation based on Frank Hernert’s 1965 science-fiction fantasy novel Dune and the sequel to 2021’s Dune, which received six Oscars. It is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who is known for films like Prisoners, Incendies, Enemy and Blade Runner 2049.

The fantasy sci-fi film also features Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem and Léa Seydoux in key roles.

Dune: Part Two is set to hit the theatres on November 3.
