Dugga Dugga, streaming on Platform 8 explores diverse shades of family bonds

The movie highlights the journey of a young lady named Anamika, who has been estranged from her father due to a tragic accident

The film Dugga Dugga, streaming on Platform 8, tells a captivating story set against the backdrop of Durga Puja. The film explores the diverse shades of family bonds, love and the weight of societal expectations. The movie highlights the journey of a young lady named Anamika, who has been estranged from her father due to a tragic accident. She returns to Calcutta when her father falls ill. Her journey for closure becomes complex as she confronts her possessive partner, Srijan, and forms a new connection with Rudra, a compassionate psychiatrist. With an unexpected pregnancy and the judgments of society, Anamika is forced to make difficult choices, grappling with the delicate balance between personal freedom, family, and tradition.

“My role in Dugga Dugga has been quite special as I have explored a new genre through this particular character. The story is about the facts and incidents that occur in the day-to-day life of an ordinary girl. It entails the power of time and the realisation of a woman about the value of the presence of a fruitful love in her life,” said Amrita Chattopadhyay.

Directed by Jiit Chakraborty, Dugga Dugga features a talented cast including Amrita Chattopadhyay, Fahim Mirza, Badshah Moitra, Moyna Mukherjee and others. The film’s music is composed by Amit Chatterjee with vocals by Ikkshita Mukherjee. The story is by Aritra-Ayan and brought to life with a screenplay by Abhinandan Dutta.

With a focus on bringing culturally rooted and compelling stories to a global audience, Platform 8 aims to deliver original Bengali content that resonates beyond regional boundaries. Apart from Dugga Dugga, the other forthcoming web films and series of Platform 8 are Gnojamil, Nishit Sen and Morali.
