Dream Girl 2 earned Rs 7.50 crore nett and still fell behind the Gadar 2 juggernaut, which minted Rs 8.75 crore nett, on Wednesday even as both films witnessed a jump in collections at the box office on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

While the Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer comedy drama inched closer to the Rs 60-crore mark with Wednesday’s collection of Rs 59.50 crore nett, Sunny Deol’s action drama hit the Rs 475-crore mark, according to Box Office India figures.

Earlier, Dream Girl 2 had registered the ninth biggest opening of 2023 among Hindi films, raking in Rs 10.69 crore nett. Its decent first weekend (Rs 30 crore nett) was followed by a steady show over the weekdays as the film minted Rs 5.42 crore nett on Monday and Rs 5.87 crore nett on Tuesday.

However, Gadar 2 had managed to earn Rs 7.10 crore nett on the third Friday, followed by Rs 30 crore nett over the weekend. Also featuring Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in key roles, the actioner earned Rs 4.60 crore nett on Monday and Rs 5.10 crore nett on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2 added Rs 1.75 crore nett to its kitty on Day 20, taking the total collection to Rs 140.17 crore nett.
