Disney+ and BBC Studios have unveiled the first trailer for its series reboot of sci-fi saga Doctor Who, featuring Sex Education actor Ncuti Gatwa as the Time Lord and Millie Gibson as his companion Ruby Sunday.

“ Everything is possible #DoctorWho premieres on @BBCiPlayer in the UK 11th May and @DisneyPlus 10th May where available,” the official handle of the series wrote on X alongside the video on Friday.

The two-minute-22-second long trailer showcases the 15th Doctor and Ruby embarking on various adventures, from encountering dinosaurs to attending elegant ballroom dances in Victorian England. Keeping in with the Dr Who tradition, the Doctor and Ruby also face off against extraterrestrial foes in a dystopian future. “Everything is possible,” says the doctor at the end of the video, signing off with style.

Produced by Bad Wolf in collaboration with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television and BBC, the upcoming season of Doctor Who will feature episodes helmed by Ben Chessell, Jamie Donoughue, Julie Anne Robinson and Dylan Holmes Williams.

The cast of the next instalment in the beloved franchise includes Aneurin Barnard, Anita Dobson, Yasmin Finney, Michelle Greenidge, Jonathan Groff, Bonnie Langford, Genesis Lynea, Jemma Redgrave, Lenny Rush, Indira Varma and Angela Wynter.

The eagerly-anticipated premiere is slated for streaming exclusively on Disney+ starting May 10, with a simultaneous global release (excluding the U.K.). In the United Kingdom, fans can catch the series debut on the BBC iPlayer at midnight GMT on May 11.

Doctor Who, the longest-running sci-fi series, introduced a novel concept known as regeneration, enabling multiple actors to take on the iconic role of the Time Lord since its inception in 1963. William Hartnell portrayed the Doctor in the inaugural season, with subsequent actors including Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker before Gatwa assumed the role.
