The trailer for Shashanka Chaturvedi’s upcoming crime thriller Do Patti, slated to hit Netflix on October 25, was dropped Monday afternoon by the streaming service. In the film’s trailer, Kajol’s cop investigates a twisted accident involving identical twin sisters, played by Kriti Sanon, and their romantic interest, Dhruv Sood (Shaheer Sheikh).

The two-minute-36-second trailer opens with Kajol’s character, a gutsy cop, interrogating Dhruv about a skydiving accident. The subsequent scenes offer the backstory – a budding romance between Saumya (Kriti) and Dhruv, set in the majestic hills of North India, takes a dark turn with the arrival of Saumya’s identical twin.

Despite their similar looks, the sisters are polar opposites and their relation seems anything but close. Tensions surface as the twins' mutual hatred becomes evident and Saumya's sister tries to seduce Dhruv.

The gritty trailer hints at Dhruv’s infidelity, and the situation quickly spirals out of control following the accident, with each character pointing fingers even as the truth threatens to emerge.

“Twists, turns, rivalry, love, hurt…,” Kriti sums up the trailer perfectly on her IG post and hints that Do Patti is also a film of many firsts. Do Patti is the first time Kajol portrays a cop. It also marks Kriti’s first time essaying a double role and her first stint as a producer alongside Kanika Dhillon, the film’s writer.

The film is backed by Kriti’s production banner, Blue Butterfly Films, which she launched in July 2023. It is also Kriti’s second collaboration with Kajol after Rohit Shetty’s 2015 romantic action comedy Dilwale. The thriller also introduces Shaheer Sheikh, a familiar face in Indian television, to the big screen and stars Tanvi Azmi, Brijendra Kala, Vidushi Manaduli and Danish Kalra.
