While Kriti Sanon sets the dance floor ablaze, Kajol navigates a web of intrigue in the song Akhiyaan De Kol from Shashanka Chaturvedi’s upcoming crime thriller Do Patti, set to premiere on Netflix on October 25.

Dropped by T-Series on Friday, the two-minute-and-33-second video captures Kriti letting her hair down on the dance floor in a red bodycon jumpsuit. In line with the trailer, released earlier this week, Kajol’s cop finds herself entangled in a twisted case involving identical twin sisters (both played by Kriti) and their love interest, Dhruv Sood (Shaheer Sheikh).

A backdrop of numerous mirrors suggests deception and a distortion of reality, while a chessboard hints at the cunning strategies devised by each character to hide the truth. The music video also offers a glimpse of the unusual romance between the twins and Dhruv.

Akhiyaan De Kol is sung by Shilpa Rao, composed by Tanishk Bagchi, and written by Kausar Munir.

“We hope your akhiyaan and ears love this song as much as we do,” wrote Kriti, sharing a teaser of the track on Instagram.

Do Patti stars Kajol as a cop. It also marks Kriti’s first time essaying a double role and her first stint as a producer alongside Kanika Dhillon, the film’s writer.

The film is backed by Kriti’s production banner, Blue Butterfly Films, which she launched in July 2023. It is also Kriti’s second collaboration with Kajol after Rohit Shetty’s 2015 romantic action comedy Dilwale. The thriller also introduces Shaheer Sheikh, a familiar face in Indian television, to the big screen and stars Tanvi Azmi, Brijendra Kala, Vidushi Manaduli and Danish Kalra in key roles.
