Shirsha Guha Thakurta’s directorial debut Do Aur Do Pyaar starring Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Illeana D’Cruz is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar almost two months after its theatrical release on April 19, the streaming platform announced on social media on Friday.
“Fall in love, again. Because just once isn’t enough. Do Aur Do Pyaar is now streaming,” the streamer captioned its post on Instagram.
Do Aur Do Pyaar revolves around a couple — Kavya Ganeshan (Vidya) and Anirudh Banerjee (Pratik) — whose 12-year-long marriage has gone stale. Consequently, Kavya and Anirudh start looking for happiness outside their marriage. While Kavya begins globetrotting with photographer Vikram (Sendhil), Anirudh is seen dating aspiring actress Nora (Illeana D’Cruz). However, when Kavya and Anirudh reignite their lost love, they find themselves torn between their marriage and their new partners.
The film is produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar and Swati Iyer Chawla.
According to industry data-tracking site Sacnilk, the romcom had minted almost Rs 3 crore by the end of its first week and almost Rs 4 crore nett at the domestic box office by the end of its second week.
Vidya last appeared in Anu Menon’s murder mystery Neeyat (2023), which marked her first film to receive a theatrical release since the 2019 blockbuster Mission Mangal.
Pratik recently starred in Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut Madgaon Express alongside Divyenndu, Avinash Tiwary, Nora Fatehi, Upendra Limaye and Chhaya Kadam.
