American animated comedy-musical television series Phineas and Ferb is set to return with a new season in 2025 on Disney+ and Disney channel, the streamer announced on Thursday.
“Moooom, Phineas and Ferb are back A new season of #PhineasAndFerb is coming soon to @disneychannel and @DisneyPlus. OnDisneyPlus.Disney.com,” the official Instagram page of Disney wrote alongside the official poster of the new season. The poster features the characters Phineas and Ferb along with their friends performing on stage and the duo’s sister Candace Flynn watching them.
During the New York Comic Con on October 17, the makers and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh officially announced the show’s return. They were also accompanied by the voice artists of the show— Vincent Martella, David Errigo Jr., Ashley Tisdale, Caroline Rhea, Dee Bradley Baker and Alyson Stoner.
“Phineas Flynn (Vincent Martella) and Ferb Fletcher's (Thomas Brodie Sangster's) backyard is the neighbourhood hotspot for all of their cool inventions. Meanwhile, their elder sister Candace (Ashley Tisdale) is obsessed with busting her brothers for all the inventions to her mom once and for all. Simultaneously, their secret-agent pet, Perry the Platypus (Dee Bradley Baker) fouls the "evil" schemes and plans of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz (Dan Povenmire),” reads the official synopsis of the five-time Emmy-winning show on IMDb.
The series originally concluded on June 12, 2015, with the season finale episode Last Day of Summer. It was revived in 2023, with new seasons scheduled for release with supposed 40 episodes.
In 2020, Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe debuted on Disney+. The first four seasons and the films are currently streaming on Disney+.
