Diljit Dosanjh recently dropped the music video of his latest track Don, which features a voiceover by actor Shah Rukh Khan.
The three-minute-24-second-long video begins with a voiceover by Shah Rukh—“Purani Kahawat hai, Ke sabse upar jaana hai to bahot saari mehnat chahiye, Lekin agr sabse upar tikna hai to maa ki duaa chahiye, Tumhara mujh tak pahunchna mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai, Kyunki dhul kitni bhi uchi chal jaye, kabhi aasman ko ganda nahi kar sakti (There's an old saying: To reach the top, you need to work hard, but to stay at the top, you need a mother's blessings. Reaching me is not just difficult, it's impossible. Because no matter how high dust rises, it can never stain the sky.)”
Diljit expresses his confidence and resilience through his song, which focuses on staying true to your roots and pursuing dreams despite societal judgments. He puts emphasis on his spiritual connection and determination to rise above challenges.
The video features thrilling moments from his Dil-luminati concerts and the moment he introduced his mother to the audience. It also offers glimpses of his appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. Slamming haters, the singer wrote, “I don’t care DUNIA Ae Ki Boldi 😈 With One & Only KING 👑 @iamsrk.” Rapper Badshah took to the comments section and called the song an “anthem”.
The India leg of Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour kicked off in New Delhi in October, and has since taken Diljit to cities across the country, including Kolkata, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Pune. Prior to his India concerts, the singer-songwriter had captivated audiences across the globe with sold-out shows in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands.
On the acting front, Diljit will be next seen in Border 2, which also features Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan. He recently sang the title track of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Pitbull.
