British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran teamed up with Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh to set the stage on fire at the latter’s Dil-Luminati concert in Birmingham recently.
In a video jointly shared by the two pop stars on Instagram, Diljit is seen introducing Sheeran to the packed audience in his trademark Punjabi style. “Ed Sheeran aa gaya oye,” Dosanjh exclaims, sending the crowd into a frenzy. While Diljit sported an all-white ensemble, Sheeran kept it casual in a black outfit.
The duo treated fans to a unique mash-up performance of Sheeran’s global hit The Shape of You and Dosanjh’s Naina, a song from Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon-starrer Crew. The duo shared a hug at the end of their performance.
Ed Sheeran, reflecting on the magical night, captioned the post, “Returning the favour to my brother @diljitdosanjh tonight in Birmingham, what an amazing atmosphere, thanks for having me!”
Dosanjh made a memorable appearance during Ed’s Mumbai concert in March, where he performed his hit song Lover. Sheeran surprised the crowd by joining in the chorus, singing in Punjabi for the first time.
Diljit Dosanjh also expressed his gratitude and excitement, sharing another clip from the night. “My BROTHER Shut Down BIRMINGHAM, What A Night LOVE & RESPECT Thank You Birmingham Waleya BAUT Pyar ,” he wrote in the caption.
