Yash Raj Films on Tuesday shared a video featuring iconic scenes from the 2004 action-thriller Dhoom starring Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu to mark the film’s 20th anniversary.
“2004 - The year it all began...Thrilling heists, edge-of-the-seat action, and an unforgettable album. Celebrating 20 years of this iconic blockbuster,” the production house captioned the video on X.
Set to the title track Dhoom Machale, the 41-second-long video begins with a shot of John, Abhishek and Uday, making their entry in the film. It pays tribute to the iconic song that emerged as “the go-to caller tune” back in the days. Subsequent scenes showcased adrenaline-pumping bike scenes and fashion choices from the film.
The video also paid homage to the iconic duo of Abhishek’s ACP Jai Dixit and Uday’s mechanic Ali Akbar Fateh. “We witnessed never-seen-before action,” reads the caption of a fight scene on a bus towards the end of the video.
Released on August 27, 2004, Dhoom revolves around ACP Jai Dixit (Abhishek), who teams up with a mechanic (Uday) to nab a gang of bike riders.
Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, the music for Dhoom was composed by Pritam Chakraborty, Sulaiman Merchant and Salim Merchant. It grossed Rs 29 crore at the domestic box office, with a worldwide collection of Rs 72.5 crore.
